November 27, 1917

A telegram came Thursday morning from Yuma, Colo., to Mr. and Mrs. S.R. Hutchings of Hastings informing them of the critical condition of their daughter, Mrs. Ida Triplett. Mr. and Mrs. Hutchings and their daughters, Mrs. F.H. Priest and Mrs. James Sawyers, left on the first available train for Yuma.

A second telegram came in the evening of Thursday conveying the news of the death of Mrs. Triplett. The brothers, Ira and Ora Hutchings, and the sister, Mrs. Charles Cary of Griswold, left Friday for Yuma to be in attendance at the funeral.

It will be recalled that some weeks ago the deceased was in a Denver hospital and at that time her life for days hung in the balance.

The deceased and her husband J.W. Triplett, were both born in Mills County. They have lived for ten years past or thereabouts in Colorado. She leaves a devoted husband and four children. A more complete obituary may be secured for a later paper.
